Editing and improving

Here in this i went through and tryed to see what i can edit to make it my own. Here as showen below i have manage to Change the keys and change the name.

In this i have tryed to change the names of others, but on changing the name it errors out so its referenceing something else somwehere else.

I have run the temple deisgner and i have noticed somethings that apear to be detached as showen below. but when i have tryed to delete these off there has been issues as they are referncing other things, when i have tryed to change things around so its referncing my stuff instead of the templete that was orginolly use =for the templete theres even more isses that arise.

See if it works with the route 1 not there.

I have changed the Instance type to make it more budget freienly as showen below.

I have also gtryed to remote into the instance that it creates, but as of so far i am unable to get into it. i have noticed that it is being created in another VPC, and that could be the reason why. But i am unsure as of yet.

Choosen blog; Introduction to Amazon ElastiCache with Windows Server

In AWS we will go from the AWS console into the Elasticashe, as shown belowFirst snap; 1.PNG

Net we Creat the ElasticCache In this we can create the settings for this. As shown below.We will skip the advanced settings. Creating the settings; 2.PNG

Enabling Access to the Amazon Elasticache;

For this Elsticache to be hooked up to the instance, we first need to create a VPC for it to all sit in and then further talk to each other in.

To do this, we need to go into the EC2 console, and we go to the Security group and then change the inbound setting’s as shown below.

Creating an Amazon EC2 instance running a server

Now we need to create and instance to connect all this too, in this we will create a Windows Server 2012r2 Base version, then in this, we will use all of the Defaults given to us. To launch this instance, i will use my original key pair used previously for the other labs.

Now while I was doing this, I thought I would go and get the Cashe node end point, this didn’t go as the lab had suggested as it was a little outdated, I eventually found the Node end point under redis in the nodes part, here is the endpoint I have noted down. ;mycache.tx1g51.0001.usw2.cache.amazonaws.com

Net I Will connect to my instance to get it up and running through an RDP, in this it requires downloading a file for you to launch the client from and then you have to grab your password for remoting in. This requires your key to do so,

And were in, as shown below;

The next thing that’s needed is to download the Redis client, for this we will go into the servers Setting and change the IE settings as shown below.

So I went through and made sure all of the connection settings were correct, they were. So move on. I thought maybe it might be the cluster, it wasn’t. I tried to create a new cluster but that didn’t work, then I moved onto the Security group. I made sure all the settings were correct, and they were so I created a new one, and it still didn’t work, I thought it was the port configuration, so I went through and made sure they were correct. It was, so I created a new one, and it still would time out. Ok, i cannot think of anything else it could be. I will try to make time and come back to this issue later with a fresh mind.

Optional Lab; Introduction to AWS CloudFormation

In this, we go into the AWS console and then further go into the Cloud Formation Section. As shown below.

Next, we Chose the WordPress template, and then we further go on to look at the Parameters, these are the settings for the Could. Paramentser; 2

The next thing is the Options, these are the are tags you can use, permissions and advanced options, and in these, we will not change any of these. Now we can create The Cloud Formation.

Now we have monitored the creation of the stack its self and its Up and running we can now use it. , here we go into the Value section in the bottom of the page. here we click on the link and it takes us to the web shown below.

Deletion of the Stack

Now we have to delete this stack, this is done through the Actions tab at the top of the AWS Cloud FOmration page as showen below.

This will ask me if I Want to delete the stack I have just created for confirmation. And I will click yes. It will then say deletion in a process in the Status bar, as shown below.

Introduction to Elastic Load Balancing

While in the AWS console we go into the EC2 console

then I will go into the load balancer and create load balancers, In this, i will choose the Classic load balancer in the options, and I will define the load balancer name as; “Free-Lab-Load-balancer”.

 

In this I configured a new security group, this was because the lab suggested using the premade one which wasn’t alvlible to us.

The next step was to configure “health check” these values were the recommended values of the lab’s page.

 

 

When the next step came along, it required an Instance already being made, but as I had been deleting my instances as I went along I went back and made a basic instance that was Windows 2012 r2 base. This was done rather simply and worked. After this we were to create tags for this instance, I had trobles with this as every option I chose didn’t work, so in the end, i left it blank.

 

Next, is where we review what we have made, this is where we can see all the settings we have made. After this, we click create, and it shows up in the load balancer section in Ec2.

After this we can go into the Description field at the bottom of the page, in this, we can find the DNS name. Once we have copied the URL found into the DNS this, we can paste it into the webpage, this should load into the instance we have connected it to mine being the Windows 2012 r2 base version. This is not what actually happened, first of all, it said the page was taking to long to respond. I then tried to load it again this time it said the same thing, I tried the trouble shooting windows diagnostics but this wasn’t very informative. This will be something I have to come back to as I have to go to work.

INTRODUCTION TO AMAZON DYNAMODB ** un edited*

When we want to create a table, we have to go into the DYNAMODB console in AWS, from here it is very, very simple., you just click on create table;

Adding data and the further modifying the table 

NNow the tables created the next step is to add data, this is where we “create items.”

Here we add in items to the previously created fields, and we can add in single instances of new fields as shown below

this was done three times until we had populated the tables with enough data.

Now we need to learn how to modify these items, as shown above, there is a actions tab, and here we go into this tab and go to Edit, here we can edit any part of the Items in the table, this can be done by hovering over the name its self too.

Querying a table

Now we can query the table for certain information, this is done vai the PK, this is done by clicking on tablets and navigating the items tab, from here we switch the Scan option for its drop down variant of Quarry. Here you can see me querying the database on all of the Items that have the pk as Kaleo.Searching an item in the table;6

Deleting a table;

While in the tables pane we can then click on the Music table to select it, then go into the drop down actions panel and select delete table, in which case will delete the table

Introduction to Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS) (Windows)

WE went into the the AWs console and ten into the Rds dashboard.  When we went into this we go into the “get started now button” in this we will follow the steps along, I will choose the MySQL option.

I will have to change the security group setting for the VPN and add in an exception as shown below.

Connecting to the Instance 

After meeting the prerequisite  we will further go into the EC2 Console, and we are required to note down the DNS address of the Instance, so here it is

Now that I have noted down the previous DNS address, I realize that we need to creat another Server as we don’t have access to the pre-made one as notes in the lab. The server I have made is windows 2012nr2 base.

 

Now I have created a new instance, I will Connect Vai RDP, as shown below; In this, i will go in and use my pre-existing key to decrypt the password I will later use to logon.

 

When it was loaded in, I tried to open up the MySQL program files, But every time I tried to open any file it had crashed. Im assuming this is because I am not using the preexisting Server that was mentioned in the lab directions. I looked into downloading the MySQL from the internet, but on this connection, it would take too long, so I will leave it here and start in the next lab.

Introduction to Amazon Elastic Block Store (EBS)

Here is Where we will go back into the Ec2 Console and Create a volume, we navigate to “volumes’ and then go to create a volume. As shown below we will leave the settings at default

Here is where we will right click on the instance we have just made, and we will “attach volume.”

In this we will need to have the instance in the same Availability Aone as the volume, we want to create otherwise it won’t work.

Snapshotting an EBS

While creating a snapshot of our system, this creates a replica of our data in the volume just incase something goes wrong. First, we will force detach the volume, and then right click create Snapshot, This can be reversed, and when you go into the Snapshot section from the menu, you can create a Volume from a Snapshot too. Crreating a snap shot
